Speech Steps Therapy is a paediatric mobile and Telehealth service, offering Speech Pathology assessment and intervention in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney.

We offer comprehensive speech and language services to children and families around the St George area and surrounds, providing mobile services to your home or your child's educational setting. We are also available online for Telehealth consultations.

Our goal is to help children thrive in their communication skills by supporting them in their most natural and comfortable environment. We are dedicated to offering a family-centred and neuroaffirming approach to intervention, ensuring all sessions are individually tailored to each client's needs.

Kristina is the owner of Speech Steps Therapy and a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist. Kristina graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from the University of Sydney in 2014 and currently holds a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia.

Kristina is a warm and engaging clinician who always caters her sessions to suit the needs of her clients. She believes that every child is unique with their own learning style. Throughout her career, Kristina has developed extensive clinical experience across a range of speech pathology clinical areas, including speech sound disorders, early language, language delay/disorders, fluency, early literacy, later developing literacy (reading comprehension and written expression), social communication and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She has experience working with various disabilities and disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, Muscular Dystrophy, Developmental Language Disorder, Specific Learning Impairment and Dyslexia.

Kristina is a lifelong learner and committed to ongoing professional development and keeping update with the latest clinical research. She has attended workshops/trainings for:

• Hanen Certified for 'More than Words' Program

• Lidcombe Program training for stuttering

• Key Word Sign (Makaton Sign Language)

• Nuffied Dyspraxia Programme

• Thrass Accredited(Level 1) and developed experience in using the Sounds Write Program for reading and spelling difficulties

• Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)

• Talk 4 Writing Workshop for written expression (SPELD)

• DIR Floortime 101 intervention (Level 1)

• Learn to Play Workshop (Foundation) - Karen Stagnatti

• Training for a range of AAC software, including LAMP, Proloquo2go, Grid and TD Snap.

• Attendance to AAC webinars for AAC interventions in the classroom as well as accessing AAC systems for AT trials.

• Clinical Educator Training (UTS)

During her spare time, Kristina enjoys pilates, photography and spending time outdoors with family and friends, whether that be a hike at the local national park or trying out new cafes and restaurants.
